Condiment and Sauce Mixing
A large independent producer of condiments and sauces for the food service industry wanted to improve thoughput and reduce labor costs. Working with a food process consultant, new equipment was installed and a control system developed which greatly improved production, without adding production labor. By using recipe management and automated sequencing, the operators are available to tend to tasks other than watch the mixing and batching process. The control system handles the basic mixing and batching, alerting the operator only when the manual additions are required or to handle a problem. The recipe based control system consists of an Allen Bradley SLC-5/04 and multiple Panelview operator interface stations.
